PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The bodycam footage of a deadly July shooting in Fort Washington Park involving the Maryland-National Capital Park Police (MNCPP) was released on Friday.
According to the Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG), the incident occurred on July 31 shortly after 6 p.m. when officers responded to reports of an armed man walking near a river in Fort Washington Park.

Officers encountered the man, identified as 30-year-old Alex Charles, and ordered him to drop his weapon. When he did not comply, the officer shot the man, who was then pronounced dead at the scene. A handgun was recovered from the area.
