ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Thirty-five homes closed in Alexandria in the last week, ranging from a $219,000 one-bedroom at The Fountains to a $2.9 million new-construction house in Beverly Hills, according to data from Redfin. The average sale price was $850,747 across an average of 1,711 square feet, or a blended $497 per square foot. The median sale price was $740,000.
It was the busiest week in the seven the Brief has tracked, with 35 closings against 21 the week before and a previous high of 22 in mid-July. The average fell from $925,276 and the blended rate per square foot dipped from $521 to $497.
The extra volume came from the middle. Ten homes sold above $1 million and 11 sold below $500,000, but 14 closed in between — a band that held only five sales the week before.
