PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A jury returned a guilty verdict Wednesday for a man accused of shooting and killing a local anti-violence activist outside a Largo restaurant in 2024.
In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson said a jury found 37-year-old Terrelle Bailey guilty of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for the Nov. 30, 2024 shooting death of Cornelius “Neil” McDonald.
“After losing his brother to gun violence, Neil became a well-known advocate in our community and the founder of Stay Solid Youth Mental Health, a non-profit organization [that] was dedicated to youth mental health and advocating against gun violence,” said Jackson at the briefing. “He spent his life working to prevent the very kind of violence that ultimately killed him in 2024.”…
