Updated 11:05 a.m. — Dominion Energy reported 1,791 Alexandria customers without power as of 11 a.m., down from 2,206 at 8:15 a.m. and more than 9,000 at 5 a.m. The large outage areas that had covered much of the West End earlier in the morning were no longer showing on the utility’s map.
ALEXANDRIA — About 1,800 Dominion Energy customers in Alexandria were without power late Friday morning after severe overnight thunderstorms, down from more than 9,000 at 5 a.m. Roads remained blocked in several places, and the city said repairs to a traffic signal on Seminary Road would continue into the afternoon.
