WASHINGTON, DC — A D.C. mother has been missing for four days, and her family says the circumstances around her disappearance remain baffling. Antoinette Forbes, 53, was last seen Friday in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Northwest Washington.
Family members said they last heard from her Saturday, when they were talking about holiday travel plans. Her sister, Aileen Forbes, said the conversation was ordinary and gave no hint that anything was wrong.
Since then, contact has stopped. Forbes remains listed as missing by the Metropolitan Police Department, which says she has been missing since Sept. 4.
Items left behind at the house raised fresh concern
A friend who checked on Forbes found several personal items still inside the home, including her phones, keys, wallet and purse. Her car was parked outside, and the family dog, Max, was found alone inside…
