FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — An Alexandria man faces up to 10 years in prison after being convicted of the attempted rape of a housekeeper in Mount Vernon on Thursday, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano announced.
Court documents stated that Oscar Barrios, 47, was convicted by a judge on an attempted rape charge after a two-day bench trial in Circuit Court.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Oct. 4, 2025, at a Quality Inn hotel in Mount Vernon. There, the victim, a 51-year-old housekeeper, was cleaning an empty room when Barrios came inside and locked the door behind him.

According to court documents, the victim tried to leave, but Barrios struck her on the head with a green beer bottle and grabbed her from behind before throwing her face down onto the bed. Barrios tried to pull her pants down from the waistband and told her to “relax and enjoy it.”…
