Alexandria VA – Alexandria is already looking ahead to St. Patrick’s Day, and this year’s celebration will have a familiar face leading the way. The Ballyshaners have announced John Henneghan Pann, known around Old Town as John Pann, as the Grand Marshal of the 2027 Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The 44th annual parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2027, at noon. For Pann, the honor brings together his Irish heritage, longtime connection to Alexandria and decades of involvement in community organizations.
From Irish Roots to Old Town
Pann’s parents came from County Clare and County Sligo, Ireland, and their heritage has remained an important part of his life. Although he was raised in Michigan and has lived and traveled in various parts of the world, Pann found a lasting home in Old Town Alexandria 21 years ago…
