Last week, Washington D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser announced plans to introduce new legislation that would allocate $380 million for renovations, and ongoing maintenance to Nationals park over the next six years.
This comes just days after Mayor Bowser publicly opposed an investment of a similar amount to the neighbor of Nats Park, Audi Field — a renovation that would have added a roof, among other renovations.
Bowser has certainly been active in the realm of Washington D.C. sports recently, playing a huge role in the effort to bring the Washington Commanders back to the District with the approval of their new $4 billion stadium on the site of previous home (to Commanders and Nats) RFK Stadium.
