IKEA is closing four more U.S. locations this fall as the furniture retailer continues to rethink its store network and experiment with different ways of reaching shoppers.
The closures involve smaller format Plan & order point with Pick up locations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Texas and Virginia. The locations were opened within the past few years as part of IKEA’s effort to bring its products and services to customers without relying solely on its traditional warehouse-sized stores.
The upcoming closures are part of a broader strategy that includes physical stores, online shopping, delivery, pickup services and alternative retail formats.
