Man arrested in connection to Southwest DC burglary

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was arrested in connection to a burglary that happened in Southwest D.C. on Saturday morning.

Police said that at about 5:30 a.m., the suspect broke into a business in the 1100 block of Maine Avenue and stole items.

The suspect then broke a window at another business.

The man took items from that business and attempted to escape. and attempted to flee. Security officers were able to detain him until police arrived.

MPD arrested and charged 38-year-old James Houska, of no fixed address, with Burglary Two, Unlawful Entry, Theft (Second Degree), and Destruction of Property.
