Pinpoint Weather: Few showers on Monday, cool down ahead

ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) — A cold front will pass through Southwest and Central Virginia on Monday. Isolated showers and storms may pop up. Drier and cooler air will filter in behind the front, resulting in a fall-like weather pattern.

Monday will start with morning temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s. Cloud cover will gradually decrease during the day as temperatures rise into the near-average upper 70s and lower 80s by the afternoon. A few isolated showers and storms are possible during the afternoon, but many will stay mostly dry. Severe weather is not anticipated.

High pressure will settle to the north for the middle of the week, resulting in fair weather conditions. Tuesday will be mostly sunny and cooler. Morning lows will be in the upper 40s and 50s while afternoon temperatures will warm up into the cooler-than-average lower/middle 70s.

Due to a “wedge” setup bringing cool northeast flow to the region, Wednesday will feature more clouds. It will still be mostly dry weather-wise with highs in the 70s.
