Alexandria’s Art on the Avenue festival celebrates cultural diversity through art, creativity

ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Thousands gathered on Saturday, Oct. 5, for Alexandria’s annual Art on the Avenue multi-cultural arts festival in Del Ray.

The festival, which runs until 6 p.m., includes 350 artists, 34 food vendors, 30 live musical acts on four stages, free kids’ activities, a pie-baking contest and more.

It is held on Mount Vernon Avenue in the Del Ray neighborhood.

The event, held annually on the first Saturday of October, celebrates the community’s diversity through the arts. According to the event’s Facebook page, over 350 vendors participate, and over 50,000 visitors attend annually.
