Several cars ‘tampered with’ in Greenbelt, police say

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Several cars were “tampered with” in Greenbelt overnight on Tuesday, according to the Greenbelt Police Department.

In a post on X on Tuesday morning, the department said that officers canvassed the area and alerted security of the suspect vehicle, a white Toyota Camry.

Security then spotted the car in the Hunting Ridge Condominiums complex. Officers arrived, and the car sped away, nearly striking several parked vehicles.

According to the police department, vehicle pursuits are not authorized for non-violent misdemeanor crimes such as tampering or vandalism.
