Man dies after car crashed into tree in Woodbridge

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said a man died in a crash in Woodbridge overnight on Thursday.

Police said that shortly before 1:30 a.m., they responded to the Prince William Parkway area, near Minnieville Road for a single-vehicle crash.

Their investigation determined that a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling south on Prince William Parkway when the vehicle went over a grassy median and crossed into the opposite travel lanes.

The vehicle then went off the road and into an embankment before crashing into a tree.

The driver identified as 64-year-old Adrian Aurel Utupan, of Woodbridge, died at the scene.

Investigators believed Utupan suffered a medical emergency.

There were no other people in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
