Man killed in shooting, 4 others hurt in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police said a man was fatally shot, and a teenage boy, two men and a woman were hurt during three separate incidents in Southeast D.C. on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that just after 11 a.m. on Nov. 8, officers responded to the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue for a shooting. There, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the leg.

The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Moments later, police found out that a man walked into United Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his upper body. MPD said it believes the man was also injured in the same shooting that happened along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of Southern Avenue for another shooting. There, they found a man who had also been shot in the upper body.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.
