UPDATED: Woodbridge man arrested for involuntary manslaughter, DUI in Nokesville crash

A Woodbridge man wanted for involuntary manslaughter in a fatal Aug. 28 crash in Nokesville has been arrested.

On Dec. 11, investigators obtained warrants for James Francis Byrd, 62, of the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue in Woodbridge, for DUI-related involuntary manslaughter, Prince William County police Master Officer Renee Carr said in a release. He was arrested on the charges Wednesday.

Officers responded to the two-vehicle crash on Bristow Road in the area of Windy Hill Drive at 6:24 p.m. that night. Police said the driver of a 2021 Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound on Bristow Road when the vehicle crossed over the center line into the westbound lane, striking a 2003 Lexus GX head on…
