One arrested in Huntington shooting case

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) — An arrest was made Friday after a shooting in Huntington injured two earlier in the week.

In a release from the Huntington Police Department (HPD), Chief Phil Watkins said Tayvon Nelson, 19, of Staten Island, NY, has been charged with 1st Degree Robbery, and a warrant has been signed on Messiah Peddie, 19, of Washington, DC, for the same charge.

The shooting was first reported on April 27 in the 2400 block of Collis Avenue just after 11 p.m. Responders found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene. The release said Nelson sustained a gunshot wound in the incident.
