Ready for Mother’s Day? Whether you’re celebrating with a phone call, a card, some flowers, chocolates or a nice brunch or dinner out, there’s one woman you can thank for the big day.
A woman named Anna Reeves Jarvis of West Virginia is most often credited with founding Mother’s Day. After her mother Ann passed away May 9, 1905, Jarvis set out to create a day that would honor not only her own mother, but all moms. Now, moms the world over are celebrated on the second Sunday of May each year. Here’s to you Mom!
