ICE arrests Honduran national after serious charges dropped in Virginia

FAIRFAX, Va. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Hyrum Baquedano-Rodriguez, a 26-year-old Honduran national, on May 2 in Fairfax after the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s attorney dismissed criminal charges against him for abduction with intent to defile and burglary with intent to murder or rape.

Baquedano-Rodriguez, who entered the U.S. illegally near Yuma, Arizona, in 2018, has a lengthy criminal history in Virginia. Despite multiple convictions and a prior removal order issued by an immigration judge in June 2024, he remained in the country. ICE officials say he poses a significant threat to public safety.
