AstraZeneca Launches $300 Million Cell Therapy Facility in Rockville, Bolstering Montgomery County’s Biotech Hub

AstraZeneca has opened a new $300 million cell therapy manufacturing facility in Montgomery County. The announcement was made last Monday during an event attended by local officials, including County Executive Marc Elrich.

According to the Montgomery County release, located at 9950 Medical Center Drive, the 84,000-square-foot facility will support the production of CAR-T cell therapies, which are used in cancer treatment. The new site is part of AstraZeneca’s broader $3.5 billion investment in research and manufacturing across the United States.
