3 women shot during violent overnight in DC

WASHINGTON — After three women showed up at a D.C. hospital with gunshot wounds, a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said Sunday that officers were investigating a shooting they believe happened in Northeast D.C. The women were among at least eight people that had been shot in Washington over Mother’s Day weekend during five separate shootings.

According to the department spokesperson, the women were shot in the area of East Capitol Street and Benning Road Saturday night. The group made it to the hospital at around midnight.
