Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Northeast DC, $25K Reward for Information Leading to Arrest

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into what they’ve described as a “fatal shooting” that took place on a Northeast street earlier this week. On Tuesday, officers arrived at the 800 block of 26th Street, Northeast, at about 1:54 p.m. following reports of gunfire. There, they found an adult male lying on a sidewalk, unconscious, and with multiple gunshot wounds, a police statement indicates.

Despite the quick response of DC Fire and EMS, efforts to save the man were in vain as he showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have since identified the victim as 31-year-old Kian-Wayne Magruder from Temple Hills, MD, according to the official MPD news release…
