RIVERDALE, Md. (7News) — Two Prince George’s County men were charged in a fatal shooting in Riverdale, Maryland last year, Prince George’s County Police report.
Jose Guardado-Orellana, 33, of Mount Rainier, and Santiago De La O Lemus, 30, of Landover, were charged in the murder of 38-year-old Jeiver Pozuelos Cervantes of Hyattsville. The shooting happened on October 24, 2024, around 6:40 a.m. in the area of Veterans Parkway and Riverdale Road. Pozuelos Cervantes was found unconscious, lying on the side of the road by a passerby suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Detectives identified both De La O Lemus and Guardado-Orellana as suspects in the shooting. On December 4, 2024, with the help of the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, De La O Lemus was taken into custody in South Carolina. He’s since been extradited to Prince George’s County. On May 12, 2025, the fugitive unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Guardado-Orellana in Baltimore…
