WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After a multi-day trial, a D.C. jury convicted a man for raping a young girl multiple times between 2010 and 2014.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) said Benjamin Hernandez Torres faces up to life in prison without the possibility of release following his conviction.
According to the evidence presented at trial, Torres raped his girlfriend’s child multiple times when she was between 5 and 8 years old. She reported what happened nearly a decade later, when she was 15, after she saw a photo of Torres at her house.
