WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A D.C. judge ordered a man to serve decades in prison following his conviction on RICO charges and for causing the death of a local swim coach in 2017.
Christopher Green, 39, was a core member of a criminal organization that operated in D.C. and Prince George’s County, primarily making money through a series of armed robberies, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) detailed.
On April 9, 2017, 25-year-old Zaan Scott, a swim coach at the Eastern Market pool, was on his way home when Green tried robbing him at gunpoint. He shot the coach, leading to his death on May 17 of that year.

At his initial trial in 2021, Green was found guilty of first-degree murder, assault and attempted robbery.
