Man pulled from Potomac River over Fourth of July weekend dies in hospital

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The man who was recovered from the Potomac River has died in the hospital, police confirmed on Monday morning.

On Saturday, July 5, first responders worked to rescue a man who was in the water near the Key Bridge. DC Fire and EMS posted on social media that he had gone into the river but did not emerge. Shortly after, an update informed the public that the person had been found.

The man was then taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but was later pronounced dead, police told DC News Now.
