Three-year-old girl shot in DC while sitting in car with family

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 3-year-old girl was critically injured early Saturday when gunfire struck a parked vehicle in Southeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded around 3:03 a.m. to the 1000 block of 14th Street Southeast after reports of shots fired and found the child with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

She was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition…
