$500K fire engine stalls out in floodwater, likely ruined

A fire engine that cost more than a half million dollars likely was ruined in floodwater over the weekend, and the firefighter who drove it is under investigation.

Firefighters on the engine were attempting to rescue people from a partially submerged car at Washington Avenue and East-West Highway in Silver Spring, Maryland, Saturday night, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
