WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An inmate at the D.C. jail was sentenced to 3 1/2 years on Monday after stabbing another inmate in October 2024, according to a release from the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office.
In 2024, 36-year-old Anthony McNair was awaiting sentencing at the DC Central Detention Facility for his role in a series of armed robberies. On Oct. 11, 2024, in the Southwest 2 housing unit, McNair was caught on surveillance stabbing another inmate, 28-year-old Tyjuan McNeal, in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack.
Around 11 a.m., McNair was seen with a clenched fist, using a stabbing motion while holding something white and sharp. He was seen stabbing the other inmate all over his body, at one point pulling over the inmate’s shirt so he couldn’t see and defend himself. The attack only stopped when a correctional officer intervened.
