Car bursts into flames on DC highway; no injuries reported

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Multiple lanes were closed on the Interstate in D.C. early Tuesday morning after a car burst into flames, according to fire officials.

Details about what led up to the fire remain limited; however, in a post on X just before 2 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said units were on the scene of a car fire.

The department noted that the blaze took place near the I-695 East and I-295 North interchange.
