CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A Waldorf man was arrested Friday after allegedly intentionally setting his home on fire while his family was sleeping, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Omar Shariff Harrison, 49, was charged with attempted murder, first-degree arson, second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning, reckless endangerment, and arson threat.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a domestic disturbance on Friday, around 5 a.m., at a home in the 3000 block of Eutaw Forest Dr. in Waldorf. Deputies say they responded the previous night for the same issue, and the couple was ordered to remain in separate areas of the home for the night.
