Man on Scooter Seriously Injured in Waldorf Hit-and-Run

WALDORF, Md. — Authorities are investigating a Waldorf hit-and-run that left a 45-year-old man with serious injuries on Friday night. The man was riding a scooter when a vehicle struck him and then fled the scene. First responders found the victim unconscious with significant head trauma.

The incident occurred around 9:49 p.m. on August 1, 2025. Emergency crews responded to a call at the intersection of Intersection Road and Progress Court in Waldorf for a reported vehicle collision. At the scene, they discovered the injured 45-year-old male scooter rider. A witness told dispatchers they saw the scooter get hit. However, the witness could not provide a description of the striking vehicle or its direction of travel.

Multiple emergency units arrived within minutes. They immediately began treating the victim for head injuries and facial scratches.
