Five Suspects Captured After High-Speed Pursuit in Carjacked Vehicle Across D.C. and Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A dramatic multi-jurisdictional police pursuit ended Wednesday with the arrest of five suspects believed to be involved in an armed carjacking in Maryland. Authorities from both Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C., with support from the D.C. police helicopter “Falcon,” coordinated the pursuit and capture of the individuals after they were seen driving around in a stolen vehicle.

Armed Carjacking Sparks Chase

The incident began around 11 a.m., when officers from Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) identified a vehicle that had been recently reported stolen in an armed carjacking. The car was spotted in Southeast Washington and trailed into parts of Prince George’s County.

Police launched a brief but strategic pursuit, aided by aerial support from Falcon, the MPD helicopter that tracked the suspects’ movements from above.

Attempted Escape and First Arrests

The carjacked vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 1300 block of Brooke Road, located in the Coral Hills neighborhood of Prince George’s County. According to officials, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Two individuals were quickly apprehended at the scene. Officers also recovered the carjacked vehicle and began securing the area while searching for the remaining suspects.

Fleeing Suspects Caught in D.C.

The remaining suspects reportedly used a second vehicle to escape the Brooke Road scene and crossed back into Washington, D.C. While evading authorities, they were soon spotted again by D.C. officers on patrol, who swiftly intervened and arrested three more individuals…
