ALEXANDRIA, VA – Missed the Virginia sales tax holiday last weekend? You get a second chance, but you’ll have to cross the bridge. The annual Tax-Free Week on select items begins tomorrow, August 10 in our neighboring state to the north and runs through next Saturday August 16.
Tanger Outlets National Harbor, for example, is just minutes from Alexandria. Once you get off the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, the outlet mall is a short drive away. Or hop on the water taxi from Old Town and make it a National Harbor day trip. The sprawling outdoor mall will be humming with Alexandrians all week, hunting for bargains and back-to-school clothing.
