Tickets now available for Amtrak’s new high-speed train

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Amtrak is debuting its high-speed train between Washington, D.C., New York City and Boston beginning on Aug. 28.

Tickets are now available for purchase for those wanting to try Amtrak’s NextGen Acela. The trains are marked with a “NextGen tag” on Amtrak.com and in the app to help travelers identify the train when booking.

Riders can also look for the following train numbers, which are scheduled to be NextGen Acela:

  • Weekdays: Trains 2153, 2154, 2170 and 2173
  • Saturdays: Trains 2250 and 2251
  • Sundays: Trains 2248, 2258, 2259 and 2271
