Police identify teen shot to death while walking toward Silver Spring apartment complex

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Police have identified a teenager who was shot and killed while walking near a Silver Spring apartment complex on Tuesday night.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, 17-year-old Jaril Verde Murillo was shot shortly before 11:30 a.m. while walking with two other boys along a path toward the Foxhall Apartments.

First responders were called to the 700 block of University Boulevard East for reports of gunfire and a person down in a roadway. When officers arrived, they found Verde Murillo wounded. The teen died a short time later…
