Delivery driver assaulted, carjacked in Fairfax County, suspect arrested: Police

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Fairfax County police said a man is in custody after a package delivery service driver was carjacked in Groveton on Monday morning.

Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) responded around 11 a.m. on Aug. 25 to the 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard for the report of a carjacking. Police said the victim was assaulted by a suspect who then got into his vehicle and drove away.

With help from the department’s Real Time Crime Center, Virginia State Police located the vehicle in the City of Alexandria a short time later. Troopers then arrested the suspect, identified as 34-year-old David Lewis of Alexandria, during a traffic stop…
