Shooters target wrong person and vehicle, killing innocent 23-year-old Brandon Gant

WASHINGTON (7News) — On Saturday, fliers went up to remind D.C. that 23-year-old Brandon Gant’s family is still waiting for answers two years after he was gunned down in the street at 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue SE in the Fairlawn neighborhood.

That’s where family and friends held a vigil Saturday afternoon. Only 7News sat down with Brandon’s mother, who is pleading for help and justice in what detectives say was a case of mistaken identity.

Gant was driving to get his mother’s allergy medication and to fill up her gas tank. Police said he was innocent and was mistaken for someone else when he was ambushed while driving his mother’s car. He was killed a week before his birthday…
