Alexandria residents are one step closer to screaming for some of the nation’s best ice cream. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, known for its innovative flavors and use of simple, straight-forward ingredients, has received approval for its special use permit application for a new Old Town location.
The venerated ice cream shop is moving into 400 King Street, Alexandria, Suite 120. According to the paperwork filed with the City of Alexandria Department of Planning and Zoning, Van Leeuwen will have 1,030 square feet of space in which to serve customers, with indoor seating for up to 16 guests.
Van Leeuwen anticipates scooping for between 150 and 250 patrons daily. The storefront will be open from 11 am to 11 pm, Monday through Sunday…
