Police Charge Teen In Southeast Armed Carjacking & Kidnapping

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, a 17-year-old Washington, D.C., teen was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the gunpoint kidnapping and carjacking of a teenager that occurred in May 2025, in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation that began when a teenager reported that earlier that day, when, just shortly before 3:00 p.m., a teenager and an alleged teen suspect arranged to meet within the 3500 Block of 6th Street in Southeast, D.C., for the sale of a watch.
Victim Reports He Was Carjacked And Kidnapped At Gunpoint
When the victim and suspect disagreed on the price of the watch, additional suspects arrived and started to physically assault the victim, forcing the victim into his car at gunpoint. The suspects then drove to a location in Maryland, where they stole the watch and the victim’s money. The suspects then left the victim at the location and fled the location in the victim’s car.
Police Officers Apprehend One Of The Suspects On Thursday
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, while on patrol, Sixth District Police Officers, while on routine patrol spotted one of the suspects wanted in connection with the carjacking and kidnapping. Accordingly, the suspect, identified as a 17-year-old Southeast, D.C., boy, was taken into custody and formally charged with Armed Carjacking; Kidnapping; and first-degree Theft…
