Armed robbery near popular DC food hall; victim’s green card taken

WASHINGTON (7News) — A man was robbed at gunpoint near a popular marketplace in D.C., where his green card and other items were taken, police said.

Two men threatened the robbery victim with a black handgun at the 1200 block of 5th Street Northeast around 7:09 a.m. They stole a brown wallet, four banking cards, two paychecks, $50, a D.C. driver’s license and his green card, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

That area is located right next to Union Market, a shopping and restaurant district described as a “thriving marketplace, event hub and retail incubator of 40+ local makers and artisans,” according to its website…
