Suspect Arrested in Northwest Washington D.C. Shooting with Antwon Lake Charged with Assault and Property Destruction

After a nerve-wracking spate of gunshots rang out in Northwest, Washington, D.C., earlier last month, the Metropolitan Police Department has recently secured an arrest in connection with the case. On the afternoon of August 2, 2025, residents of the Unit block of Florida Avenue, Northwest, were startled by gunfire, but fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported. According to the Metropolitan Police Department’s release, a victim was targeted but escaped unscathed from the bullets’ wrath.

It wasn’t easily, but surely, that detectives linked 24-year-old Antwon Lake from Fort Washington, MD, to the unsettling event. His arrest came two days ago, on September 18, when authorities, armed with a DC Superior Court Arrest warrant, charged him. Lake is now facing the weighty charges of Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Destruction of Property, bearing the full brunt of his alleged actions against the law…
