Nine Deputies Swarm Slater Drive To Break Up Street Fight; Two Men Tased And Arrested

WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man and a La Plata man were arrested on assault and disorderly conduct charges after a street fight to which nine Charles County sheriff’s deputies responded. Theodore Devon Hall, 45, of Waldorf, and John Randolph Woodland, 58, of La Plata, were both reportedly subjected to electronic compliance devices during the incident and were later released on their own recognizance following the third police response to the neighborhood in a single day.

Court documents filed by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office state the incident occurred on Sept. 10, 2025, during an ongoing family disturbance on Slater Drive in Waldorf. Deputy Eric Weaver was reportedly speaking with Hall in the front yard when another man, later identified as John Randolph Woodland, arrived and exited his vehicle in the street.

According to charging documents, Woodland allegedly yelled, “Who hit my car?” Hall reportedly jumped up and went into the street, yelling at Woodland. Authorities say the two men stood chest to chest, threatening each other and yelling despite repeated commands from officers to separate…
