MARYLAND (WBFF) — Since two former Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland employees were charged with using complimentary perks — meant for customers — to win big, one of the ex-employees of the Hanover casino has pleaded guilty to his involvement in the $27,000 scheme.
On Tuesday, Sonejah Richards, 27, of Forestville, was given probation before judgment for pleading guilty to two counts of theft between $100 and $1,500. Probation before judgment is the condition when the court defers a formal judgment and conviction while the defendant serves probation.
According to court records, Richards was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and will have to pay $9,848 in restitution to the casino and hotel by Oct. 7, 2027. Court documents state that Richards’ probation will become unsupervised once he pays the restitution in full…
