Man accused of pointing gun at multiple people across Southeast DC, facing charges

WASHINGTON (7News) — A Northeast, D.C. man arrested Wednesday is accused of pointing a firearm at several people in three separate areas of Southeast, D.C., from July, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said Anton Smith, 32, was arrested after being linked to five firearms found by officers carrying out a search warrant on Wednesday; one of the firearms had been linked to the July incidents.

Back on July 24, police responded to three locations in Southeast between 7 and 8 p.m. for reports of a man threatening people with a firearm:

  • Benning Road and C Street, Southeast, at approximately 7:10 p.m.
  • Unit Block of 49th Street, Southeast, at approximately 7:29 p.m.
  • 400 Block of 51st Street, Southeast, at approximately 7:51 p.m.

No one was injured during those incidents…
