Oct. 20 (UPI) — The driver who allegedly drove through a children’s birthday party in Maryland over the weekend, has turned himself in, according to authorities, who said one person was killed and 13 others, mostly children, were injured in the hit-and-run.
The suspect, identified as a 66-year-old man from Washington, D.C., turned himself in Sunday and was being interviewed by a crash investigator, the police department in Bladensburg, located northeast of the nation’s capital, said in a statement.
“Consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney is underway and criminal charges are pending against the driver,” it said.
