An Alexandria man has pleaded guilty in a March 1 fatal stabbing in Sugarland Run.
Lathius Noel Martin, 40, was indicted in June on charges of malicious wounding and shooting or stabbing in commission of a felony. Prosecutors alleged that he stabbed Wesley Richard Scott during an altercation outside Scott’s home on the evening of March 1. Scott was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Sheriff’s Office deputies previously testified that they found Martin near the scene covered in blood and took him into custody. Several witnesses testified at a hearing that they saw the two fighting and saw a knife in Martin’s hand just before Scott was stabbed, but no one actually saw the stabbing. The knife was never found…
