Takoma Park Police are investigating an assault and vehicle theft that occurred early Tuesday morning in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 12:03 a.m. on October 15 to assist another agency in locating a recently stolen vehicle that had been tracked to the area. Upon arrival, officers observed three suspects attempting to steal another car. When police approached, the suspects fled in the stolen vehicle, striking a marked police cruiser and sideswiping two parked cars before the vehicle became disabled nearby.
Two suspects fled the scene on foot, while a juvenile passenger was taken into custody. Officers recovered stolen property and burglary tools at the scene, and the stolen vehicle was impounded. The juvenile was later released to a parent…
