The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an assault with a dangerous weapon. The incident happened on August 3, 2025, at about 8:40 p.m. in the 3000 block of Mount Pleasant Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. Police say the suspect hit a victim with a handgun, pointed the weapon at the victim’s chest, and then left the area.
