5-year-old boy suffers graze wound to the face in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON — A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Friday night for treatment of what police believe was a graze wound from a gunshot in Southeast D.C. A spokesperson for the police department said the child is expected to be OK.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of Savannah Terrace Southeast around 8:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Once on scene, police found that the 5-year-old suffering an injury to the face, thought to be a graze wound from a gunshot. He was conscious and breathing when taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries…
